COMMEMORATIVE WARES
Throughout the years, the pottery industry recorded historical events with the issue of commemorative wares.
Royalty was a favourite topic as was War although events less regal and less hostile were also recorded. If it was thought that an event
could be a money spinner, it was printed on a plate!
Apart from those of national interest, local and personal events were also recorded, e.g. births and marriages.
